English language teaching courses always used to be aimed at post-graduates who wanted to go travelling, but in more recent years this has changed considerably.
The range of ages, backgrounds and motivations continues to take us by surprise!
Did you know that last year students from 26 different countries signed up for English lessons with our CertTESOL trainees?
Our trainee teachers need students to practise on, and we always have a great mix of nationalities and cultures in the classes.
Did you know that nearly 25% of our CertTESOL trainees in the last 3 years have been nonnative speakers of English?
Anyone whose level of English is C1 or above See CEFR common reference tables) can apply, and many of our trainees come to the UK especially to get the CertTESOL qualification.
Did you know that this week 6 out of the 14 teachers on the Lewis School timetable are our very own CertTESOL graduates?
Between them they are teaching a mixture of adults, juniors and business English. Not everyone goes abroad to use this qualification – many of them stay very close to home!
