Online Student-centred Teaching

Over the 4 weeks, you will be working on collaborative tasks with your peers, and the course is designed to allow you to experience student-centred learning first-hand, with guidance and support from your online tutor.
Many of the online activities will be easily adaptable for the face-to-face classroom, and you will have the opportunity to share ideas and good practice with each other.

This is a refresher course for English language teachers who want to discover ways in which they can further engage and motivate their learners, putting the emphasis on student-centredness and reducing teacher focus in the classroom. You will develop and put into practice a range of effective teaching and classroom management techniques for encouraging active participation from your class, and will consider the impact of different error correction methods, as well as classroom layout and dynamics.
