One-to-one lessons

1:1 lessons are tailored to suit your individual needs in the area you require, for example Business English, Legal English or soft skills - whatever you wish to study.

Afternoon Classes

Afternoon General English is available as a part-time course, or you can add it to any 15-hour course. Lessons mainly focus on your communication skills.

Combination Courses

If you want a mixture of General English and one-to-one lessons. our Combination Courses could be the ideal choice.

Closed Adult Groups

Our tailor-made programmes will develop your English inside and outside the classroom, and help you discover our city and the south of England.

A PERSONAL APPROACH

From the first day you arrive at the school, we learn about your reasons for learning English, your language strengths, and your personal aims for the course.
Classes are small – the maximum number of students is 12* - so you will receive a lot of individual attention. Your teachers will discuss your progress every week, and if you follow a General English course, you will be able to move to a higher level when you and your teachers feel you are ready. From time to time, you will also have a one-to-one tutorial with our staff so you can discuss your progress.

The average class size is 7–8. The maximum is generally 12, but in special cases this may increase to 13.

THE RIGHT ENVIRONMENT

The school's multicultural environment and opportunities to practise English outside the classroom make a big difference to your learning. Social activities also provide an ideal opportunity to practise. We have created vocabulary sheets for our trips to develop your language as you explore the UK. Weekly Study Clubs help you improve your conversation skills, grammar and more.
There are also opportunities for self-study, from our online syllabus to our Study Centre with a mini library and progress tests. Our students can use certain facilities at Solent University next door, like their
restaurant and library. So we offer an excellent environment for your English to grow!
