Well Done to Our Storytelling Students!

What a joy it was to work with our amazing students from Italy!
Over 40 boys and girls aged 9 and 10 joined us for a fun-filled online course. This 10-week project was based on the popular children’s story Room on the Broom by Julia Donaldson. Students joined us in small classes on Zoom and explored the magical world filled with witches, dragons and friendly animals.

The course was designed to help the students to feel more confident when speaking English and to develop their language in a fun and interactive way.
Students explored the characters of the story, creating menus for the greedy dragon and spells for the lovely witch. We also looked at pronunciation, as Room on the Broom is a rhyming story. Led by our team of drama professionals, there were plenty of actions, gestures and fun warm-up activities to get students ready to speak.
We were really impressed with the students’ work – there was some wonderful writing, super artwork and of course lots of speaking. The course finished with a performance where each student read their own part of the story, and many joined us in costume!
Well done, everyone!
