Whether you stay with us for just one week or for a long period of time, accommodation is a very important aspect of your stay. You need to feel at home to be able to concentrate and progress with your learning. You are a long way from home and we understand that you need our support to organise a comfortable place for you to live.
Available all year round
10-35 minutes by bus from the school.
Personally approved by the school and regularly inspected
We cater for special diets such as vegan or Halal.
Regular or Executive Homestay
With Executive Homestay, you have your own private bathroom (not necessarily en-suite)
Half Board or Full Board
Staying in a homestay can be a valuable part of your language course. Your host welcomes you into their home and gives you a comfortable and friendly base during your stay. You live as part of the household, taking meals together and sharing the common living areas. All homestay hosts have been personally approved by the school and are regularly inspected. We are delighted that many of our students and hosts stay in contact for a long time afterwards.
Homestays are 10-35 minutes by bus from the
school. An adult bus pass usually costs around £14 per week or £52 per month.
Who will my host be?
We have many wonderful hosts of different ages and backgrounds. Some are families with children; some are couples without children or whose children have grown up and left home; others are single hosts living alone. For students under 18, all adult members of the household will be DBS-checked (police-checked) as part of our safeguarding procedures.
To help find you the most suitable homestay, we ask you certain questions on your booking form. For example, we ask you whether you want a smoking or non-smoking house, a house with or without children, and a house with or without pets.
What can I expect in my homestay?
Your host will welcome you, provide you with a comfortable room where you can study and relax, and explain the household arrangements. They will give you a change of towel and bed linen every week and will wash your clothes. However, please remember that it is a home and not a hotel, so we ask you to respect the house rules.
What if I have a problem with or a question about my homestay?
Our welfare staff at reception are always available to talk to if you have any questions or concerns about your homestay. If it becomes necessary, we will try to find you a new homestay as quickly as possible.
