JUNIOR OPERATIONS ASSISTANT
Hi! I’m the junior operations coordinator at the Lewis School. Throughout the year, groups of young people from around the world come to study here. It’s my job to organise their stay in Southampton and to take them on visits and trips whilst they’re here. I also write articles for the Lewis School blog. These posts cover life in Southampton, British culture and information about our school.
I studied German and Italian at Cardiff University. As part of my degree I had the opportunity to study in both Sicily in Italy and Innsbruck in Austria. Once I graduated I headed straight back to Austria to work as an English language assistant for the British Council. I lived for 9 months in a small town in the mountains of Tirol on the border with Italy. Outside of teaching, I spent my time hiking, climbing and skiing. The experience of teaching in a secondary school made me realise that I enjoy working with young people and in turn led me to apply for a job as an activity leader at the Lewis School.
After a fantastic summer of working as an activity leader for the summer school, I was offered my current job. I love the international feel of working at the school and having the opportunity to learn more about different cultures. I’m also looking forward to learning more about life here in Southampton through writing articles for the blog.
