English & Football Camp

in Association with Southampton FC

Our  English  &  Football  Camp  offers  you  an  exciting  combination  of  professional  football  coaching,  English  lessons,  trips  and  other  activities.  What’s  more, we’re  teaming  up  with  Premier League club Southampton FC (nicknamed ‘Saints’), through their charitable arm, the Saints Foundation.

Your English Lessons

  • 15 hours of lessons per week

  • Average 12-15 students per class*

  • Trinity GESE exams available (additional fee)

Lessons are enjoyable and fast-paced, and are designed to build your confidence with spoken English. Our syllabus is specially designed for students aged 11-17. Topics and language points change on a weekly basis, meaning you can start and finish your course any week. Classwork also links with trips and other cultural activities on your programme. Lessons alternate between morning and afternoon on a weekly basis.

*The maximum number of students per class is generally 15. However, at peak times, we reserve the right to increase this to 18 per class.

Football Camp

  • 15 hours of sports activities/coaching per week

The  course  incorporates  the  philosophy  of  Southampton  Football  Club  and  uses  the  power  of football  as  a  tool  to  develop  your  English  language  skills.  Through  this  philosophy,  you’ll  be  able to  learn  the  ‘Southampton  Way’  and  understand  the  values  of  Respect,  Unity  and  Creativity  to turn  your  potential  into  excellence,  through  fun  and  engaging  sessions  aimed  at  improving  your  techniques and performance.

You will also have to chance to play competitive matches against local British teams. Training will take place at Goals Southampton, while your sports psychology classes will be at Southampton FC’s 32,500-seater stadium, St Mary’s. You’ll also have a stadium tour and there is even the possibility of meeting a first team player!

The programme is delivered by professional, fully qualified coaches from the Saints Foundation. Participants will use Southampton FC kit for matches, and have the opportunity to buy a replica kit from the club shop. The programme includes:
• 1 match per week
• 1 sports psychology session per week at stadium
• 1 fitness session per week
• 2 technical coaching sessions per week
• programme certificate from Southampton FC
• closing ceremony/awards ceremony within session
• stadium tour
• possible meeting with first team player

Other Activities

  • 1 full-day trip per week

  • Variety of evening activities

  • Optional Sunday trips (additional fee)

On our fun-filled activities programme you will discover some of the top tourist destinations in the UK, such as London, Oxford and the Isle of Wight (see your centre timetable for trip destinations). You will also take part in a variety of evenings activities such as boat parties, barbecue parties, capoeira, ceilidh (folk dancing), conversation club and games. These are designed to help you make friends and activate your English.
