Agent Familiarisation Trip – December 2017
We were delighted to welcome educational agents from Hong Kong, Kazakhstan, Russia, Thailand, Romania, Uzbekistan, the Netherlands and the UK on our December familiarisation trip.
Participants had the chance to get to know the Lewis School team, to learn about the programmes and facilities on offer to students and to enjoy a taste of the local culture.
As well as our main school, we visited the university campuses where three of our summer junior centres are located. This included Southampton Solent University, where a cutting-edge new £33m building is the home of our Southampton Junior Centre. We also visited our Bristol Junior Centre at the University of the West of England, and our Reading Junior Centre at the University of Reading.
There was lots of fun to be had, too! One of the highlights of the trip was a very entertaining presentation of our theatre programmes, where our guests became students, performing tasks like tongue twisters, creating a tableau and other fun team-building exercises. There were cultural events too, including a visit to Southampton’s SeaCity Museum to learn about the Titanic, a photo opportunity at the world-famous Clifton Suspension Bridge (below) in Bristol, and of course a Christmas meal.
