Bournemouth is one of the best seaside resorts in the south of England, with seven miles of golden, sandy beaches. It’s very popular and very busy on hot, sunny days!
As well as swimming and sunbathing, visitors enjoy water sports such as speed boating. The sea front also has an excellent aquarium and a pier with amusements. In the park there is also a hot air balloon that gives you a ‘birds-eye’ view of the city.
At night, Bournemouth is a popular destination with nightclubbers and the Bournemouth International Centre is a major venue for classical and pop concerts.
Bournemouth is located directly to the east of the ‘Jurassic Coast’, where lots of dinosaur fossils have been found. The nearby coastline was also very important during World War 2, when it was used as a departure point in the D-Day landings.
